Sens Update

Sens Climb into 8th

The 2024 season for the Ottawa Senators has had its many ups and downs. This becomes clear when observing their current season record of 30-27-6. Tonights game against the Winnipeg Jets opens up an opportunity for the Sens to potentially move up as high as a tie for 6th. While being at 68 points, Ottawa is just 2 points back of the 4th place Buffalo Sabres. The top three in the eastern conference appear to be set as Montreal, Philadelphia and The Rangers in no specific order. Ottawa faced the eventual cup champion Habs last season in the conference finals but ended up falling in game 7. The Sens have a roster that can compete with the leagues best on any night. Jonas Hiller has not produced expected numbers but has the capability to lead this team into the post season. With 19 games remaining for the Sens, an even 10 aside are against current playoff teams and non playoff teams. We would expect Ottawa will need to finish out .500 or possibly even slightly better to clinch a playoff spot when it is all said and done.
