The Lost And The Wild

The 16th season of the FNHL was probably the most quiet and slowest seasons we have ever had. In the middle of the non-activity and the impression of little interest across the league, one of the few GMs that was always active was Minnesota GM Aaron Williamson. Even though he hasnt been in the league very long, he has turned around Minnesota and took advantage of this slow season and not only had an impressive regular season record but breezed through the playoffs. I think we can consider Aaron as one of the GMs in the league that you can go to for advice on how to assemble a roster.

As we look through the Minnesota wild it is full of talented older players (Marian Hossa, Jason Spezza, Ron Hainsey), talented young players (Patrick Kane, Joey Hishon, Leland Irving, Ryan Murray), and guys you have never heard of (Alexander Voronin, Jeremy Welsh, Robin Figren). Even though many thought there was no chance Minnesota could win with Leland Irving in net, Irving proved them all wrong and in the final two rounds outlasted Alvaro Montoya and Henrik Lundqvist to ultimately win a cup. This is a roster that could possibly challenge for a repeat, especially since Hossa and Spezza both have one more year left on their contracts. Congrats to Jason Spezza, Ron Hainsey, and Igor Mirnov on their first cup after a LONG time in the league. Marian Hossa has now won two cups in a row.

Congrats to Aaron Williamson and the Minnesota Wild on the winning the 16th FNHL Cup!
