Ducks sliding with Halverson sitting

Starting Goalie Blues

By Dillon McGillivray

Brandon Halverson has been rotating in and out of starting for the past 5 games, because Halverson has had a hard time with his conditioning throughout the season. The fatigue is obvious with his very inconsistent performances. “Something we're going to work on in the offseason is our goaltending overall conditioning” the coach stated to the press after a game. Lack Is trying to step up in Halverson’s absence but it seems that the team has had a hard time putting the puck in the next and keeping it out of theirs. Losing 4 of the last five games and drawing 1.

It’s another story for the farm team which is preforming very well this season with a few future stars for the franchise. The pirates currently sit in 8th in the league with 58 points. With players like Martin Necas at a total of 68 points in 52 games played on pace for a whopping 107 points on the season. Filip Zadina and new acquisition Tanner Kero on pace for similar numbers. Needless to say there will be a bright future for the Ducks with their current farm talent.

Tonight the Ducks take on 2nd place Canucks which will be a hard fought battle for the Halverson-less Ducks. Lack will have to be at the top of his game if they are to compete with Vancouver.
