Settling the Score

By Payton Knoph

Calgary (AP) - After dropping a pair of winnable games over the weekend, the Calgary Flames turned up the heat and toasted the Arizona Coyotes 7-2 last night in Calgary. The win was a comeback after being slapped 6-2 versus these same Coyotes on Friday night.

"We knew we should have played better the past couple of games, so we came out and played hard." said defenseman Johnny Oduya who scored 2 goals and 2 assists. Oduya is having a career season and it's coming at a perfect time for him. A UFA at seasons end, Oduya will be looking to cash in on a long term deal after signing a very cap-friendly 1 year RFA deal last offseason.

The Flames and Coyotes will cap off their season series tonight as they finish the 2nd half of their home-and-home season. With the Flames holding a 2-1 record over 3 games so far this season versus the Coyotes, it's anyone's guess as to how tonight's game will go. After being humiliated last night, the Flames have to expect a bounce-back fight.

Flames' goaltender Malcolm Subban is expected to get the nod again tonight after a relatively easy 23 save night last night. While the Flames are being careful not to overwork the 27 year-old net minder, they also want to get him in as many games as possible. With the intensity expected to be high tonight against the Coyotes, this is a must-play game for Subby-Doo.
