Ducks Flying High

Ducks topping opponents in close matches

By Dillon McGillivray

The Ducks recent play has been stellar to say the least. Only having 3 loses in the last 10 games and 7 wins. “I'm happy with the way the team is “clicking" right now. All of our departments are playing out of their skin" said GM McGillivray in loue of their 4 game win streak.

The streak comes after the hard thought out trade to the Oilers. Seeing acquisitions such as JT Miller and Carl Gunnarsson making a impact right out of the gates. Miller took injury in their game against the hard nosed Red Wings and that didn’t seem to affect the teams momentum. Filip Zadina got the call up to his debut pro game in the FNHL, to fill in for Miller's absence. “The kid got his first taste of the big league. It can be intimidating to be called up and fill such big shoes, Zadina was definitely affected by a little bit of “stage fright” in those couple games he came up for" GM McGillivray stated.

“Halverson has been holding it together well even though being obviously fatigued.” The coach said “I can see it in his posture and how he carries himself after every whistle.” The coach also hinting that there might be a few game rest in the future for the starting goaltender. This will also give Lack a chance to show the Ducks that he wants to stay the backup tender after subpar showings from him.

The Ducks are at home where they're  set to take on the Oilers in a mid table battle. The Ducks hope to get the W in a game that will help solidify their position in a playoff spot
