Ducks Trying to Find Groove again

Ducks make moves to curb penalty minutes

By Dillon McGillivray

The Mighty Ducks have fell into a five game losing skid after playing well for the past ten games before that. In which Josh Morrissey was injured for a few games. The Ducks are having a hard time “clicking" in the past 5 games, from allowing too many shots on goals to shoddy goaltending and taking far to many penalties. Last nights game just emphasized the lack of discipline and goaltending.

GM McGillivray has been looking for a way to change the momentum and he thinks he found one. He made the decision to pull the trigger on a deal involving Kapanen and Anikeyenko. In return they picked up Carl Gunnarson, Chad Krys, J.T. Miller, Michael Funk, Tanner Kero, and a future 1st round pick. “I’m sad to see both players go but it’s for the best, as everyone knows Anikeyenko is a great defender but his temperament was causing visible problems for the team. That does not fit into my game plan at all.” McGillivray stated at a press conference today. “Kapanen was definitely going to be a staple player for the Ducks in the near future, but it just made sense to move him for the greater good of the team and get the deal done.”

The Mighty Ducks go onto take on the Sharks tomorrow in what should be a great battle. With the fresh faces and the boost to the defensive line the ducks hope to snap their losing skid. Halverson will get the start to hopefully snap him out of his cold streak.
