Bobkovin' Along

By Jeff Nagle

Solid Job, Bobkov

This is Bob Cobb coming to you from Rumors Bar in downtown NYC with another report on the Rags. Well, after back-to-back home/away games against the Tampa Bay Lightning, the back & forth season for the Rangers continues. With Carey Price resting for both games, Igor Bobkov got the nods and handled himself fairly well as the team dropped the first game 2-0 at home and then pulled out a 5-2 win in Tampa the following night. Word on the street is that Price is back to 100% and will definitely be back in goal tonight against Philly.

In an attempt to spark some much-needed offense, C/Lw Greg McKegg has been manning the pivot on the 4th line for the past 3 games and he's produced with 3 points. There's been interest from several teams around the league and while he very well may be traded in the coming weeks, he's certainly helping out for now. On the flip-side, C Kevin Lynch still can't find his game and has actually asked to be traded. Lynch has been on the team since GM Erickson took over back in the 2018 FNHL season, but despite being given all the chances in the world, it may simply not be a good fit here in the Big Apple. We got the following quote from the brass..

"We are officially taking trade offers for C Kevin Lynch. We love Kevin and he's meant a lot to the franchise over the past decade, but after meeting with him last night..  it's clear that he'd like a change of scenery.."  - GM Erickson

Up next, the Rags visit one of the various Borelli-managed teams (Philly in this case)... and they once again will be playing without star D-man Victor Hedman. Can they pull it out without their #1 homre on defense?  I sure hope so.
