Peter Martin, this paragraph is almost pointless, cause words can not describe him. At times, I thought that he was a suck up to me by doing various small things for me at the drop of a hat. Then I realized, that isnt him sucking up, that is how much he cares about this league. If I had to have one GM in the league scout for GM talent, take care of the verbal issues in the league, or even advertise this league to other people, this is the man I would choose. Season after season he continues to amaze us with his great GM skills and his great personality. I can not remember a time I got into a fight with Peter over a rerate, player decision (retire or UFA) or any other problem. He is the prototypical GM that every league should have, but I'm glad they don't. In reality, we all hate him cause he always wins, but we also all love him because he brings so much to this league. Nobody deserves this more than him and I hope that he will always be around for me to run a league for. It has been too much of a honor having him in this league, and the league would not be half as good without him. Thank you Peter and you have no idea what your dedicated to my league means to me.

"There are many great General Manager qualities about Pete. One, he always manages to win. No matter who he trades away or gets in return, he generates wins every season. He is one of the most active GM's we have and we thank him for it. He seems to have a good handle on the game and is a true sportsman, win or lose. Like myself, Pete doesn't hesitate to show others a piece of his mind. And he does it with enough integrity not to belittle himself or the other person...too much :) So here's my thanks to Peter Martin for being among the elite GM's this league will ever see."
From The Mouth of Jay Reardon
I have been in the FNHL for about 2.5 seasons or so
and Av's GM Peter Martin has been the most active GM
in the league. Not only has he been active, he has
been successful, I am sure creating relationships with
other GM's helps when you talk trade, and I would bet
some good money to say that he has talked to every GM
in the league at some point during the season to try
and better his team.
Peter not only remains active by making trades and
staying involved in the daily management of his team.
He also writes extensive articles both during the
season and during the offseason which provide GM's
with comprehensive analysis of whatever subject he
decides to cover. He is also involved in the
managment of the league itself, helping wherever the
league needs help.
On top of all of his dedication to the league, he has
won, and has consistently won. After winning a title,
he didn't just stop and accept that he was the best
team, he went out and made more acquisitions.
He is a great example of what the league should look
for in a GM. I know everyone cannot devote as much
time as he does, but the time he devotes should be
recognized.
From The Mouth of Jay Mohr
In my opinion, Peter Martin has done an outstanding job as
the GM of the
Colorado Avalanche. Although some may question his executive decisions,
and the direction he is taking the Avs, he has managed to put a team
together that has been among the elite the last 4 seasons in the FNHL,
and won a Stanley Cup, along with the best regular season record ever.
His decision to invest in the "now" instead of the future, has
definitely paid off for him, and although he may be headed back into
rebuilding mode for the first time since he's been in the league, I
believe he will find a way to keep a competitive team on the ice. He has
made smart moves in trades, and FA pickups. I have personally traded
with Peter in the past, and he is one of the more realistic and fair
GM's in the league (I've had horrible trade offers from many others).
Peter is also very respectful, and appreciative on a personal level, and
seems to be an all around good guy. He is also a GM to model after with
his activity in the league. In the playoffs alone (where we don't get
participation points), Peter gave us updates to read almost daily on the
playoffs as they unfolded. I hope he decides to continue as a GM in this
league (I might just be able to win a game from him next season....lol),
and look forward to another great season with all of the great GM's in
the league including Peter.
From The Mouth of Steve DeVito
Since coming into league a few years back, Colorado was the gold standard as far as I as concerned. Tons of talent, money and a GM who was hard-nosed enough to always try to make it better. With a career record of 165-63-26, Peter Martin has guided this team to a Stanley Cup victory already and a little creative cap manuevering, the Avs will continue to stay atop the West.
